Lectures are available to the general public for $15 each.
Lectures run from 1 hour to 2 hours. Tickets can be purchased from Sheila Green, email sheilagreen@windstream.net or at the information desk in the Atrium at the Cornhusker Hotel during QuiltNebraska.

"Background Fillers" with Kris Vierra
A variety of machine quilting background fillers - pebbles, swirls, flames, flowers, and McTavishing and feathers will be covered. Lecture is suitable for all intermediate/advanced domestic and long arm quilters.

"Vintage Made Modern: a Contemporary Bed Turning" with Brenda Groelz
Brenda, Dir. of Marketing & Education for Handi Quilter, has been purchasing quilt tops to add to her collection. Add the two together and you have a quilt show that will hang in France, Sept. 2016. She will share photos of works in progress and bring a number of quilts to show.

1:45pm (Approximately) "Virtual Behind the Scenes Tour-IQSCM"
Note: held at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum, 33rd & Holdrege
What goes on behind the scenes at the IQSCM? This video will provide you with an insider's view of what happens to a quilt once accepted at the museum: the journey from arrival, through isolation, the conservation room, cataloging and finally storage. Learn how the Exhibition Team schedules, curates and hang exhibits including why some quilts are displayed differently than others. There is so much that happens before we see the quilts displayed!.

Lynn will show a variety of fabric purses and bags she has made over the years. Tip and tricks will be shared to customize bags to fit your lifestyle, materials and changes to make to any bag pattern.

"Extraordinary Scrap Quilt" with Diane Harris
This trunk show of scrappy wonders will inspire you to make quilts using dozens of fabrics together. Unlock the secrets to successful scrap quilt, learn to sew from your stash and get free patterns and ideas on how to begin. Scrap quilts are exciting to discover and fun to make!

"Modern Quilting" with Sheila Green
What's the Modern Quilting craze all about? Who's involved? What does "Modern" mean? We'll learn by viewing a trunk show of Modern Quilts and seeing additional images through a PowerPoint presentation. Come discover the history and future of Modern Quilting!

"Stories of Inspirations" with Diane Gubbels
As Diane's beautiful quilts unfold, so do stories that lead to their creation. Her quilts have been inspired by life's experiences that became "music to my soul," she says. She will share her music and 100 quilts.

"Not Your Granny's Dresden Plate" with Diane Harris
Dresden Plate is a lovely traditional quilt pattern, but it can be so much more! Come, learn how to make those mysterious blades, wrap your mind around the math of the Dresdens and see many intriguing variations. Enjoy a trunk show of Dresden quilts, new and old! Leave inspired to try a Dresden Plate for yourself!
